Westfields Golf Club Wedding

Weddings

As a photographer I am constantly looking for new opportunities to practice my craft. When Ashley Kanton put a call out for second shooters on my local Rising Tide group page I jumped at the chance.  When she chose me, I was through the roof excited to accompany her for her Westfields Golf Club Wedding, in Clifton, Virginia. This would be my opportunity to capture a wedding’s pretty little details.

Ashley was amazing! We met at the bride’s getting ready location and she basically said “have fun”, be as creative as you’d like. Free license, to shoot how and what I want!?! At first I thought sheesh, where do I even start? So first, I observed Ashely at work. She seemed to glide from room to room, not interfering but quietly capturing the special moments the bride was having with her family and bridesmaids, as she was getting ready for her big day. It was beautiful watching and capturing images of the day from an outsiders perspective.

“…all the pretty details that when gathered together create the stunning imagery that makes a wedding day magical.”

When it was time to capture the details, I found my love. The flowers, rings, shoes and all the pretty details that when gathered together create the stunning imagery that makes a wedding day magical. I love the details because they are the little things that brides took months or even years to plan. If they cared enough to plan them I make it a point to care enough to capture them. I’m sure they imagined how the beads on their dress would sparkle or the way the flowers would add the perfect pop of color to the day. I love how I can capture all the pretty little details, so years from now they have a stunning, visual reminder of their beautiful wedding day. Here are a few of my favorite from that day to share with you. I hope you enjoy them.
