In the spirit of short summers we decided to make as many short trips as we could! Our quick turn around trip to the Big Apple was fabulous, exhausting and worth every minute. We hadn’t even unpacked our bags before we hopped back in the car and headed to Maryland to visit with family. Life in the Marine Corps has kept us away from the East Coast and our family for more than ten years! Which meant it had been over ten years since we enjoyed a bucket of crabs and some ice cold beer. We were way overdue! Look out the Hubb Club is traveling North from some Maryland Blue Crab!
Talking. Laughing. Cold Drinks and good eats. The day couldn’t have been much better! We started with a great cheese board as we waited for everyone to arrive. Seven layer dip, potato salad, chips and desserts. Table Set! Hammers Ready! Time for the guest of honor, one bushel of yummy blue crabs. Just in case you didn’t know (I had to look it up) a bushel of crabs is anywhere between 6 and 8 dozen crabs! woohoo!! That’s lots of good eats.
We live a rather crazy busy life. We aren’t really great at saying no and tend to overfill our calendars. It’s a work in progress. But the one thing we will never be sorry about saying yes to, is spending time with family. Every chance we get if we can make it work we will carve out time for what really matters and for the Hubb Club. Family!
