Hey Y’all! This week I fell in love with the best little bookstore in Fredericksburg! Almost every time I visit downtown I walk up and down Caroline street. I love peeking into each little store as I walk by. Knowing I could get lost in a bookstore for hours, I’ve avoid stepping inside when with my husband. But this week I was alone! So with my vanilla cappuccino from Agora’s I opened the door to new and wondrous place to get lost! Join me for Fridays in Fredericksburg as I visit Riverby Books!

When I was a child one of my biggest fears was having to read out loud in class. I was a slow reader, unlike most of my classmates who seemed to read with such ease and speed. Because of this I hated reading! My loathing for reading increased when Barnes & Noble was born. My dad would drag me and my sister there and get lost for HOURS!!! UGH! I hated reading and now I’m stuck in a bookstore too! I’m not exactly sure when the tides changed but somewhere I fell in love with reading. Maybe it was when I was the one deciding what to read and not having to perform for teachers. I discovered that being a slow reader was a gift. It allowed me to remember all sorts of details speed readers seemed to glaze over.

Finding Riveby Books has definitely rekindled a reading spark. This isn’t your typical used book store with narrow rows stuffed with books that are hard to find. Riverby is warm, open and immediately inviting! You’ll find your perfect reading chair in almost every corner of the store.
