The time has arrive for the class of 2020 to begin taking their Senior year portraits! It’s five years past the time when Marty McFly went into the future and we still don’t have flying cars or proper hover boards. Though I don’t think it’s as far off as we may think. Some things have changed immensely since I was a senior and other things have remained the same. Senior Portraits for example are still a huge part of a student’s senior year. I’d say even more so now with the rise of social media.
Even though we have continued with the tradition of taking senior portraits. The process has really changed. It doesn’t all take place in a studio anymore with perfect lights, tons of makeup and formal wear that usually doesn’t even represent the true identity of the senior getting their picture taken. We have moved to a more natural real version. Sure there is still an element of staging but more and more I love that Seniors are leaning towards capturing who they really are in their last year of high school.
This is why I love Senior Rep Teams. I launched my first team this year. Honestly, I wanted the team more for my team members than myself or my business. Because I know that developing community and connection is where amazing experiences and memories are made. We started off the year with an amazing shoot in Downtown Fredericksburg. As we took team and individual shots we talked about college and plans for what’s next after high school. We all had a great time. The best part was ending the night at Carl’s Ice Cream just before the storm clouds rolled in.
I can’t wait to get this crew together again for another adventure of creating memories and capturing amazing photos along they way!
