Fall Family Fun

Family Sessions

Fryer Family, Government Island, VA

It’s October in Virginia but you wouldn’t know it by the warm weather we’ve been having. I think everyone is ready to pull out sweaters and boots but the weather is saying, not just yet. Starbucks has already been serving their pumpkin spice lattes for weeks! The leaves were doing their best to change. The wind would tease us now and then with a cool kiss. We knew fall was on the way but it just wasn’t quite here yet.  The warmer weather didn’t stop the Fryers from embracing the real season for some fall family fun. Even though it was warmer than expected DiShante, Ronald and Imani showed up in perfectly coordinated fall fashion. Again, Imani with the cutest shoes. It’s almost as if they were determined to bring on the fall by dressing for the season.

I already had the pleasure of photographing this family a month ago for Imani’s 1st birthday cake smash. So I was sure we would have a wonderful time for their family session. Imani Grace did not disappoint! I love the challenge of capturing a toddler in motion. It is one of the most difficult things I have attempted. Let me just tell you, keep your eyes out for Imani Grace in the future olympics. This child is fast! But when I finally got that one shot! That Smile. That Laugh. That moment she paused just long enough for my shutter to capture her joy. It was Magic! I truly believe she is the reason her parents smile. Their smiles were wonderful all afternoon but the best ones came when we were watching or interacting with Imani. She would tug at DiShante’s earrings and have the best little giggle. Ronald would throw her high playing airplane and the laughter made my sides hurt. Her laugh was infectious.

DiShante, Ronald and Imani, thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to spend time with your sweet little family. Your love for Imani and each other clearly shows. You are so fun and easy natured and a blessing to those who know you. I hope our paths cross again sooner than later. You know as well as I this military life can be a tough one. But the rewards of meeting families like yours make it all worth while! Enjoy your tour here in Virginia and many blessings where ever the Corps sends you next! Happy Fall, Fryer Family!
